We Care LA Campaign

Dignity California

ULTCW officially launched its We Care LA campaign  and will soon begin contract negotiations with LA County officials to put IHSS home care providers, who currently make $9.65 an hour, on a path to making $15 an hour.

Through the We Care LA campaign, ULTCW aims to educate the public on the important role home care providers play in the lives of the people we care for while working to achieve a wage that will help our communities and economy thrive, attract and retain caregivers to meet the growing demand for home care, and bring dignity to the lives of LA County home care providers.

Studies show that lifting workers out of poverty is beneficial to our communities, our economy, and our families. That is why workers from the City of Los Angeles to the City of New York are fighting for wages that will allow them to achieve the American Dream.

Like workers throughout the country, IHSS home care providers deserve the right to be able to pay bills on time and bring food to the table without having to live paycheck to paycheck. We, and the people we provide care for, deserve a life of dignity, not poverty, and we will strive to make sure our County Board of Supervisors acknowledges that.
