Cal MediConnect Update
As of January 1, 2015 there have been 122,908 active enrollments into one of the five Cal MediConnect Health Plans and 159,907 Opt outs. In Los Angeles County, there have been 56,240 active enrollments and 109,282 Opt outs.
The population with the highest Opt out rate of 66% in LA County are those on the IHSS Program. The charts below show enrollment, Opt out, and disenrollment information through January 1, 2015.
Update your Address
One reason for passive enrollment into one of the 5 Cal MediConnect Health Plans would be by not responding to the 90 and 60 day enrollment notices sent out.
If you moved, and did not update your new address with the Social Security Administration or the County IHSS office, the enrollment notices will be sent to your old address. In order to avoid this, please update your address.
If you have primary eligibility though SSA (majority):
Call the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 1-800-772-1213
Visit a local SSA field office.
Visit the SSA website located at http://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/
You should verify with SSA that both the mailing address and residence address fields are accurate and up to date.
Once the address is updated with SSA it will take 7-14 days for this change to show up in the Medicare system.
If primary eligibility is though the county (minority):
Call the County Eligibility Worker or local field office.
Update your phone number on file at same time.
