SB 142 (Maldonado) - IHSS Authorized Tasks

This bill would require the Department of Social Services (DSS) to devise a method to ensure that an IHSS provider receives a list of approved tasks before working for an IHSS consumer as well as a complete list of services that can be authorized under the IHSS program.

Status: This bill was passed by the Senate on June 1, 2009, and is currently being reviewed by the Assembly Appropriations Committee.  However, the bill’s sponsor, Senator Maldonado, vacated his seat and was sworn in as Lieutenant Governor on April 27, 2010. Under state regulations, this bill must be taken up by another sponsor to continue through the legislative process.
