Trainings
The
Personal Assistance Services Council (PASC) provides a variety of training
opportunities for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) consumers and providers
in Los Angeles County. All trainings provided by PASC are free and voluntary.
State law does not require IHSS consumers or providers to undergo any
training before entering the IHSS system. |

PASC has developed the IHSS Consumer Training Program to inform IHSS consumers about different aspects of the IHSS Program. Topics discussed include The Consumer as Employer, Communication: The Key to a Successful Employment Relationship, Understanding and Navigating the IHSS System and other relevant topics. Provider Trainings
PASC, in coordination with other community and/or healthcare organizations, offers a variety of free trainings designed to provide information on working in homecare. These voluntary trainings are given throughout L.A. County and include topics such as Health Safety and Disease Prevention, Disability Awareness, and HIV Prevention tips. Provider Training Initiative
PASC has worked with various organizations and agencies to develop the first-ever Homecare Worker Training Curriculum. The curriculum is being used in L.A. County by the Homecare Workers Training Center to train homecare providers in the basics of homecare work. This 60 hour course is free for IHSS providers.
